To begin streaming, after login, select the 'Launch Camera' button. Next, you'll be instantly directed to the app's main screen. Select "Continue" to access the 'START' button.

CLOUD STORAGE & BILLING

How does CapturePeople storage work?
With CapturePeople you simply purchase a Cloud storage amount when you need it. There are no monthly fees. When you purchase 1 GB, for example, you can stream and store up to 1 GB of content. You're paying for what you will actually use — not a recurring subscription that charges you every month whether you use it or not.
Where can I see my current Cloud storage amount?
Upon log-in and selecting the 'Launch Camera' button, you'll be instantly directed to the app's main screen, which will display your available Cloud storage amount.
What is 'MyCloud'?
MyCloud refers to your current storage amount availability in your private Cloud storage. On the main app screen, beneath "MyCloud:" the file size MB amount displayed reflects your current Cloud storage capacity availablity for your usage.
How can I add Cloud storage to MyCloud?
Upon login, the app's main screen displays 'MyCloud', 'Add Storage' and 'Continue'. Simple select/tap 'Add Storage' to proceed with purchasing Cloud storage.

To purchase cloud storage:

  1. Tap Add Storage
  2. Select your desired storage package from the pricing options
  3. Complete payment via secure Stripe payment platform checkout
  4. Your purchased storage is immediately added to your account
  5. See your updated balance in 'MyCloud' on the app's main screen
How much does Cloud storage cost?
Cloud storage pricing:
  • 2GB of Cloud storage: $5.99
  • 5GB of Cloud storage: $10.99
  • 15GB of Cloud storage: $27.99
Does CapturePeople App have a subscription option?
Currently, there is no subscription option. Simply purchase the amount of Cloud storage that you desire.
What happens when MyCloud storage amount gets low?
The app monitors remaining Cloud storage amounts in real-time and notifies you if you approach a low storage amount. At approximately 20 MB remaining storage, a warning displays: "Storage amount low — Add Storage." And then another more urgent warning displays: "Storage almost depleted — Add Storage!" Upon continued active streaming during low storage, your streaming capability will automatically stop when your storage is depleted. The session ends to ensure what was captured is saved/stored cleanly. To resume normal use, tap Add Storage from the main screen or via the Menu to purchase an additional Cloud storage amount. New streaming capability will become available immediately once your Cloud storage balance is replenished.
How long until my cloud-stored stream expires?
Every stream is stored for 90 days by default. After 90 days it expires, is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered — unless you extend its storage period before it expires. To protect against unauthorized or coerced deletion, files can't be deleted with a single instant tap; deletion requires your Master Code and completes within 30 days, with an email confirmation and a cancellation option.
How can I extend the Cloud storage time length of a streamed file?
To extend a streamed file's Cloud storage time length, beyond the initial 90 days, simply access 'Cloud Streams' listed in the app Menu, select the three vertical dots next to the streamed file of your choice and then select "Extend Storage Time" to proceed. Extension times are provided in 90 day increments.
Does purchasing more Cloud storage extend storage time length?
No. Purchasing more Cloud storage does not extend Cloud storage time length. Purchasing more Cloud storage simply creates more available storage space availability in your Cloud to store more streamed files.
What is the cost to extend Cloud storage time?
The cost to extend the storage time of a file, is paid by deducting storage MBs from your existing Cloud Storage total amount. If you choose to extend the storage time of a currently stored 30MB file, for example, the deduction would be 30MB from your existing Cloud Storage total amount.
Will I be notified when my streamed file is about to expire?
Yes. Notifications are sent to the User's device, 14 days prior to Stream file expiration date, 7 days prior to Stream file expiration date and also a Notification will be sent 1 day prior to Stream file expiration date.
Can a stored Cloud file be downloaded after the file storage time has expired?
No. After expiration stored files are deleted from the Cloud storage.
Why do I see "Refreshing Storage Amount"?
Under 'MyCloud:' on the app's main screen, "Refreshing Storage Amount" will appear after each time that you've streamed content to the Cloud. "Refreshing Storage Amount" appears while calculating your actual remaining Cloud storage amount in order to provide you with a accurate and current remaining Cloud storage amount.
Upon a file deletion, does my Cloud storage recoup that storage amount?
No. If you delete a file that's stored in your Cloud, that storage anount is decreased from your total cloud storage. Deleting a file removes it from Cloud storage, and does not add the storage amount back to your account. To protect against unauthorized or coerced content deletion, a file deletion requires Master Code verification.

STREAMING DETAILS

How can I Stream again right after an initial streaming?
Upon selecting "Stop", to stop streaming, you will see the message: "Your Captured Content Has Streamed To The Cloud". To Stream again simply select "Continue" and "Start".
What is the size limit of a continuous Stream?
There is no fixed time limit or file size limit for a single stream. Your streaming can continue as long as you have available Cloud storage and a working Wi-Fi or cellular network connection.
What is a typical Stream size?
Stream size depends on the length of your captured content and typically on how much motion is in your captured content. Fast camera movements create larger files. CapturePeople records in sharp 720p HD at approximately 20-25 MB per minute of streaming. (For perspective: YouTube recommends ~37 MB/minute for 720p uploads, and typical phone camera apps use 100+ MB/minute at 1080p — CapturePeople's 20-25 MB/minute delivers HD efficiently).

The app also protects you automatically, by continuously monitoring your remaining storage during a Stream: when storage runs low, a warning is displayed; when critically low, the Stream stops automatically to protect your remaining Cloud storage balance total, and the Start button is blocked until more storage is added. Best practice: before starting a long Stream, check your available storage in 'MyCloud' on the main app screen. If you plan to Stream for 30+ minutes, ensure you have at least 1 GB of Cloud storage available and an adequately charged device. If you run low during a Stream, you can stop, add Cloud storage, and start a new Stream immediately.
Will my Stream be stored on my mobile device?
Your streamed content file is instantly stored in the secure Google Cloud Platform, not directly onto your mobile device. However, shortly after your streamed file is securely stored in the Cloud, a copied file, in .mp4 format, will be immediately downloaded to your mobile device.
While capturing content can the view be zoomed in and out?
Yes. While capturing content, to zoom in and out simply "pinch to zoom. Moving/pinching your fingers together on the device screen zooms out, while spreading fingers apart zooms in.
If I Stream when I'm not using Wi-Fi is there a cost?
Capturing/streaming will only complete within Wi-Fi range or over an active cellular connection. While streaming, upon moving out of Wi-Fi connection range, your captured content will continue streaming over your device's cellular connection if enabled in the app's Account Settings > Cellular Streaming. You are responsible for ensuring your device's Wi-Fi is enabled and connected to a working network when capturing content, otherwise your mobile carrier costs will apply. In the absence of a Wi-Fi connection or cellular signal connection capturing/streaming will not succeed.
Does CapturePeople use my mobile data?
If you have enabled Menu > Account Settings > Cellular Streaming, the captured content will stream/upload over mobile data if you are not connected to Wi-Fi or are out of connected Wi-Fi range. You are responsible for ensuring your device's Wi-Fi is enabled and connected to a working network when capturing content, if you are not connected to a Wi-Fi network and Cellular Streaming is enabled, your mobile carrier costs will apply.
Important tips on Streaming
Make sure your device is adequately charged, or connected to a power source, the volume is turned up on your device, the lighting is adequate and your aiming of the device is stable, not shaky, prior to streaming. And ensure that you have adequate Cloud storage capacity. Additionally, on your device you must enable Settings > Notifications > App Notifications > CapturePeople, to receive notifications generated by the CapturePeople app.

FILES & DOWNLOADS

How can I get copies of my streamed files?
Each Stream file that you create is stored instantly in your private, secure Cloud, not on your mobile device. Shortly after it's stored, a copy in .mp4 format is automatically downloaded to your device — you'll see a "Stream File Downloaded" notification, and the file will be in your 'Downloads' or 'Files' folder on your mobile device. On your device you must enable Settings > Notifications > App Notifications > CapturePeople, to receive notifications generated by the CapturePeople app. To see all of your Cloud files, select 'Cloud Streams' in the app Menu. The list shows each file's name, size, creation date and time, and the number of days remaining before it expires from Cloud storage. To download additional copies beyond your two free downloads, open 'Cloud Streams', select the three vertical dots next to the file of your choice to proceed.
How can I identify each of my past Cloud Stream files?
The best way to identify a past Cloud Stream file is to add a file description, or file name, to the mp4 file, listed in 'Cloud Streams' in the app Menu, upon the initial time when it is downloaded, for future reference.
How can I add a file description or file name to a downloaded file?
To add a file description or file name to a downloaded file, simply access 'Cloud Streams' in the app Menu, select the three vertical dots next to the File of your choice and then select "Add File Description" to proceed.
Is there a limit to the number times a streamed file can be of downloaded?
Yes, there is a limit to the number times a streamed file can be of downloaded. Each app User is limited to two free downloads of a streamed file. Once the limit is reached additional copies of a streamed file can be requested/downloaded.
Is there a cost to receive an additional streamed file copy?
To receive an additional streamed file copy from Cloud storage, an amount is deducted from your current Cloud storage total, prior to the download. The deducted amount is equal to the file size (MB) of the file that you choose. For example, if the file that you've chosen to additionally download is a 13.5MB sized file, an amount of 13.5MB will be deducted from your available Cloud storage total amount, prior to the download.
How long does it take to download a stored streamed file?
Downloading begins immediately from Cloud Storage. The time to receive the downloading file depends on the file size and your network connection stability.
If my device has no more storage space to receive a download, what happens?
If your device storage is full, the download will fail with an "Insufficient storage" error. Your download count will not be deducted - failed downloads do not count against your two downloads limit.

To resolve your insufficient storage situation:
1. Free up space on your device (delete unused apps/photos)
2. Return to the app menu and 'Cloud Streams'
3. Select the file - tap Download to attempt another download

Your streamed video remains safely stored in the Cloud until you have successfully downloaded it or until it's storage time expires.
How can I remove expired Cloud stream history info from the app menu?
Each expired Cloud Stream accompanying information is listed at Menu > Cloud Streams which will automatically delete in 90 days from it's creation date.
How can I delete my account?
To delete your account simply select 'Account Settings' listed in the app menu to proceed with the account deletion.
Are my files erased if I delete my account?
Deleting your account requires Master Code verification. A deleted account is scheduled for permanent deletion in 30 days, and during that 30-day time window new purchases and streaming are disabled. You can cancel anytime within the 30 days using your Master Code. After 30 days, your account and all associated content are permanently deleted.

If you happened to be locked out of the app by an unauthorized person, a scheduled deletion protects you: downloading during the 30-day time window requires your Master Code — which the intruder shouldn't have — so they can't download your files, yet you still can (with your Master Code via another device).
Can I cancel an account deletion?
Yes. You have 30 days to cancel via Account Settings → Cancel Pending Deletion, using your Master Code. You'll also get a confirmation email when deletion is scheduled. This provides an opportunity to reverse an accidental deletion request or respond if your Master Code was somehow used without your permission.
Can I delete a file before 90 days?
Yes, you can request deletion at any time. For security purposes, however, deletion is not immediate. A deletion request requires your Master Code and is completed after a 30-day waiting period. You'll receive a confirmation email when the request is made, and you can cancel the request at any time during that 30-day window. This delay helps protect your content from unauthorized or malicious deletion attempts.
How can I cancel a file deletion request?
After requesting deletion, you have 30 days to cancel it using your Master Code. You'll also receive a confirmation email when the request is made. This provides an opportunity to reverse an accidental deletion request or respond if your Master Code was somehow used without your permission.
Why do I need a Master Code for deletion at all?
Your Master Code protects you. Because files can't be deleted instantly, no one with momentary access to your device — or anyone pressuring you — can wipe your content on the spot. Deletion requires the Master Code that only you have, plus a 30-day window with email notice, so unauthorized or coerced deletions can be caught and cancelled.

ACCOUNT RECOVERY & SECURITY

Who can access my Streams?
Only you. Your Streams are private and can only be accessed when you log into your app account to download a streamed file. Legal Disclosure: We take your privacy seriously, but in rare instances we may be legally required to provide data to law enforcement authorities, with a valid judicial issued search warrant, related to a relevant, legitimate criminal investigation.
How secure are my stored Streams?
Your Streams are stored securely on Google Cloud Platform using Firebase Storage, which provides enterprise-grade encryption and protection. All files are encrypted during transfer and storage, and only accessible through your secure login. Google's infrastructure meets the highest security standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) and is trusted by millions of applications worldwide. See additional information on our Privacy Policy page.
How can I change my email address or password?
To change your email address or password simply access Menu > Account Settings to proceed. Upon a new email address change, as a security feature the original email address can be used to log-in for 180 days, which provides protection from an unwanted email address change, by an unwanted user, who's intent may be to block you from accessing/downloading copies of your stored streamed files.
What to do if I forget my password?
To recover your password simply select 'Forgot Password?' on the login screen - the first screen that appears upon opening the CapturePeople app.
Can I access my Cloud storage if my device has been lost/stolen or compromised?
If your mobile device has been lost or stolen or compromised, to access your secured Cloud Storage, simply download this app onto another Android device and log in. You can access your account by logging in with either your email address and password or using your email address and Master Code. This works for up to 180 days, even if your email address has been compromised(changed). Once you have regained access to the account you can change your password, via Account Settings, to lock out any unauthorized person. You can also download any files from the Cloud and then delete the account, if desired, to block any unauthorized person from using your account to purchase storage, stream or download.

This is exactly why your Master Code matters — it's the one credential an intruder shouldn't have (because you have written it down and stored it separately from your device). Standard download limits and fees will apply. If you've also lost your Master Code, contact privacy@capturepeople.com to verify your identity and retrieve your data.
Which device will Cloud files download to?
Whether using your original device, or another device, downloads deliver to whichever device is making the request for the file downloads, via app > Menu > Cloud Streams, then select a file > Download.
What is a Master Code?
The Master code is the 16 digit code that appears upon a new User's sign up screen prior to creating the User app account.
What is a Master Code used for?

Your Master Code empowers you with the ability to:

  • Regain access if someone changes your password.
Enter your eligible email address and Master Code through the Account Recovery screen. You can then establish a new password and revoke the intruder’s existing access.
  • Regain access if someone changes your email address.
Your previous email address remains eligible for Account Recovery up to 180 days after the change, using your Master Code.
  • Access your account from a replacement device.
If your device is lost or stolen, install the CapturePeople app onto another supported Android device and use Account Recovery with your email address and Master Code.
  • Download your stored files if you cannot access your account.
Use the Account Recovery screen with an eligible email address and your Master Code to regain access and download your stored files. Standard download limits, storage deductions, and fees still apply.
  • Authorize a file-deletion request.
Deleting a cloud-stored file prior to its 90-day expiration date requires your Master Code. These deletion requests remain pending for 30 days before being permanently completed
  • Cancel a pending file-deletion request.
During a pending 30-day deletion period, you may cancel the deletion request using your Master Code.
  • Authorize deletion of your account.
An account deletion request requires your Master Code and remains pending for 30 days before completion.
  • Download files or cancel account deletion during the pending 30-day period.
While an account is scheduled for deletion, your Master Code is required to perform these protected actions.
What are the Master Code critical security directives?
• Write down your Master Code and make a copy • Store your Master Code securely off of your mobile device • Never share your Master Code with anyone • Master Code never expires
How secure is my Master Code?
Your Master Code is a cryptographically-generated 16-digit recovery credential (displayed as CPTPP-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX for readability).

**Security Features:**
- Generated using time-based entropy + your email hash = statistically unique
- Stored as a bcrypt hash (never stored in plain text)
- 16 random digits = 10,000,000,000,000,000 possible combinations
- Computationally infeasible to guess or brute-force
- Never transmitted over email or SMS
- Only displayed once during account creation

**Important:** While mathematically secure, your Master Code's safety depends on how YOU store it. Write it on paper and store it like you would a physical key to a safe deposit box. Never store it digitally on the same device as your password.

**Collision Risk:** The chance of two users receiving the same Master Code is less than 1 in 10 quadrillion - effectively impossible.
What happens if I enter the wrong Master Code multiple times?
For your security, Account Recovery is temporarily locked after 5 unsuccessful recovery attempts within 15 minutes. If this happens, wait 30 minutes before trying again.
Where is the Account Recovery screen?
To recover your account simply select 'Trouble logging in?' on the app's initial login screen - the first screen that appears upon opening the CapturePeople app.
What happens if I have lost my Master Code?
Your Master Code cannot be recovered by our support team — it's stored only as an unreadable hash code, which is what keeps your account secure. If you still have access to your account (you can log in), you can continue using it normally; however, you will be unable to delete files or to delete your account without your Master Code. If you're also locked out of your account, you can still exercise your right to retrieve your data and request deletion by contacting privacy@capturepeople.com and verifying your identity (see "Lost Access Recovery" in our Privacy Policy). For security, we cannot restore login access to an account whose Master Code is lost. Store your Master Code privately and off-device.
How can I access the app menu?
To access the app Menu, after login, simply select "Continue" on your main app screen, The app Menu can then be accessed by selecting the circle in the top right corner of the main preview camera screen.
How can I exit the app?
To exit the app simply select 'Exit app' listed in the app Menu.
How can I get help with the app?
If you experience any technical issues with the CapturePeople app, simply contact our Help/Support team. Prior to contacting our support team, most issues can be commonly resolved by following these two basic instructions: 1. When in doubt......log out (and log back in). 2. Log-in quirk?
